Note: From Moidart Church Register: "Mar 9 Lachlan McInnes, Island Shona & Mary McEachan, ? Moidart AUSTRALIA
Witnesses: James McInnes & John Kennedy. Rev. A McD" http://www.moidart.org.uk/justus/restricteddataset/rcweddings.htm (Membership required) However, this entry is mistranscribed, with McInnes given as McIsaac (see same error for witness and brother, James for his wedding entry). Graham MacDonald, Gympie, Qld, gave this alternative transcription from his own copy.
"Lachlan McInnes , Island Shona, Married Mary McEachen of Slochd Ardnis, on 9th March, 1837" My suggested corrected Gaelic spelling - Sloc Ardnis
Or www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk has facscimile.
Letters in caps are a later notation indicating migration.
Note: Age on Death Certificate is given as 74, which gives birth year of 1800. Shipping records (Inverness Emigrant Index) give age at embarkation as 35, which gives birth year as 1804.
